MACAW BIRD FEEDING

HOW AND WHAT WE FEED OUR BIRDS

Here at our Macaw bird breeding house, We feed our birds with the top and best quality bird food with all the nutrients needed for any bird to have a nice and healthy structure. All our birds including blue-and-gold macaws, eat a variety of seeds, plant material, fruits, and nuts. The wild macaw’s diet tends to be high in fat, which is acceptable for a bird that spends its day flying through the rain forest, finding food, nesting, and rearing chicks.
Nutrition is commonly neglected with pet birds by man owners. Feel free to discuss your macaw’s nutrition with us if you have a bird feeding issue. Too often owners assume they are feeding a proper diet to their macaw when in fact they are not! This is a common reason for many health problems. It is important to continually strive to improve your bird’s diet. This involves constantly educating yourself as well as a certain degree of common sense. It is insufficient to feed a macaw just to maintain life; instead, your goal should be to help it thrive and flourish. Your bird’s health depends on how well it is fed.

Many small parrots, such as cockatiels, parakeets, and parrotlets, are ground feeders. That means a good amount of their daily food consists of seeds. Many of the seeds they eat in the wild are germinated. When seeds germinate (soak up/absorb humidity), they get ready to provide the necessary boost of nutrition for a plant to develop and grow.
